Calling All SD Artists!
Our "Gig Listings" site will be used for all bookings to start 2016.
As 2015 came to a close, the GigTown team was discussing the future of booking within GigTown and how to make the process as efficient and transparent as possible. Along those same lines, we heard a lot of feedback from artists asking us how they can be more proactive in seeking gig opportunities through GigTown. We feel the Gig Listings site helps accomplish all these things.
If you have an approved artist profile on GigTown, you can log onto the Gig Listings site and check out available gigs. If you're available for the gig and interested in playing, then you just need to check the box to apply - simple as that! If you're selected for the gig, you will receive a request through the app.
Private event hosts and venues will be posting their gigs on the site and will be provided a list of applicants for their posting. The site will recommend artists to them based on previous bookings and artist engagement within the app (check-ins, song likes, profile sharing). Once the posting has been filled, the listing will be taken down from the site.
At the moment, there is no email notification when new postings are made, so be sure to check the site periodically to review postings you've applied for and to apply for new listings. Of course, please let us know if you have any other feedback along the way.
